摘要

Indoor environments in factories and inventory warehouses require monitoring of people and assets for efficiency and safety. Low visibility of operations of moving assets on a factory floor leads to inefficiencies. The absence of real-time location systems means that data has to be collected by manual sources. The use of manual labor leads to higher costs and low productivity. The manufacturing industry benefits from tracking material handling systems, such as forklift trucks moving on a factory floor or warehouse. This necessity arises from the dire need to avoid accidents and injury to drivers, and to make collection of inventory data more accurate. Inventory data collected by drivers is prone to errors and inaccuracies. Moreover, an automated system would yield quality operational data for analysis.
