Nikola Badger pickup available as FCEV or BEV, 600 mile range

US-based Nikola Corporation has launched its Nikola Badger electric pickup truck, available as a fuel cell electric or battery electric vehicle, with an estimated range of 600 miles (970 km). The vehicle will be built in partnership with an OEM - to be announced soon - utilising their certified parts and manufacturing facilities. The Badger can operate in fuel cell-battery hybrid or 100% battery mode, and driven for up to 300 miles (480 km) in BEV mode if there is no access to hydrogen (compatible with industry standard EV charging). The pickup features a 120 kW fuel cell with a 160 kWh flooded module lithium-ion battery, and a supercapacitor for 'launch assist'. This powertrain provides 980 lbf. ft of torque, with a continuous power output of 455 bhp (340 kW) and a peak output of 906 bhp (675 kW), enabling acceleration from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in a supercar-like 2.9 s.
