Industrial Gas Users Join Council Plea to FERC for Tech Conference Review of Gas-Electric Fuel Security Matters

Industrial users of natural gas, represented by the Process Gas Consumers Group (PGC) in separate comments underscored their endorsement of positions stated by Natural Gas Council (NGC), which filed a letter recently with FERC asking the agency to schedule a series of technical conferences to discuss the issue of fuel security. PGC believes that “fuel assurance, along with ensuring adequate pipeline infrastructure to deliver natural gas to those who rely upon it, are the most essential components to enhancing gas/electric coordination.” Like NGC, PGC urged the Commission to hold a series of technical conferences on this matter so that all different perspectives can be heard and discussed. The comments have been made in the context of the Commission’s ongoing proceedings, docketed as Centralized Capacity Markets in Regional Transmission Organizations and Independent System Operators (AD13-7, et al.) and Winter 2013-2014 Operations and Market Performance in RTO’s and ISOs (AD14-8).
