According to a study issued in October from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), Energy-Related Carbon Dioxide Emissions at the State Level (2000-2013), Texas recorded the most energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in 2013 at 641.0 million metric tons (mt) of CO2, followed by California (353.1 million mt) and Pennsylvania (243.9 million mt).
