Diamond Offshore Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in Texas

On April 27, Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. announced that it and certain of its subsidiaries have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. Diamond Offshore said that it is pursuing negotiations with its key stakeholders about a comprehensive restructuring plan to address capital structure, and that it has sufficient capital to fund its global operations in the ordinary course and to make continued investments in safety and reliability during the reorganization proceedings.
