GAO Examines Natural Gas Storage Safety in New Report

Several states have not agreed to partner with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) to inspect natural gas storage sites, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) said in the new report, Natural Gas Storage: Actions Needed to Assess Inspection Workload and Progress Toward Safety Outcomes (GAO-20-167) which was released on October 16.
