At the start of March there were the first signs of recovery in the UK timber market, the weather was improving, there was a modest upturn in orders and demand for standing timber was increasing. Timber prices had stabilised and the seasonal upturn was starting to kick in.The spring budget has delivered an enormous fiscal stimulus to an economy which was stalling due to Brexit and the global uncertainty. The outlook for construction and the low carbon economy looked very positive in the UK.
