The objective of this book was to produce a set of instructions that would enable anyone with an interest in tree-roosting bats to make an objective assessment of any wooded habitat type and its potential to hold bat roosts. The book succeeds in meeting its objective using a well-structured approach with a myriad of visual examples. The amount of evidence collected and synthesised is a noteworthy achievement that will be apparent to anybody who has spent time searching for bats in trees. I encourageall ecologists, arboriculturists, foresters and bat enthusiasts to read this book.
