Clinical Benefit and Improvement of Activity Level After Reconstruction Surgery of Charcot Feet using External Fixation: 24-months Results of 292 Feet

Purpose of Study: To determine whether patients of Charcot neuroarthropathy (CN) under-going surgery with Hoffman II external fixation and full load bearing 6 weeks after surgery benefit in terms of walking ability and early amputation avoidance. Approach: This retrospective study involved following-up of 282 Charcot neuropathy patients (292 feet, 189 male and 93 female, with a mean age of 57.9 years) over a mean 24.1 month period selected between 1996 and 2010.
