GLOBAL CEMENT: PRICES

Pakistan: Cement prices have risen by US$0.10-0.15/bag (50kg) for consumers as manufacturers start to pass on the impact of additional taxes and duties announced in the new Federal Budget for 2017-2018, which came into force on 1 July 2017. In the north, including around the capital Lahore, prices now reach US$5.22-5.36/bag, depending on the brand. DG Khan Cement is the most expensive at US$S.36/bag, while Bestway Cement and Maple Leaf Cement now retail at US$5.22/bag. Less popular brands are selling at US$5.17/bag.
