The Henny was described succinctly by John Harris as follows: "The hen-cock is a distinctive variety ofGamefowl, having all the procreative and fighting properties of the Game cock, with the plumage of a hen."A few other breeds have hen-feathered males, including Sebright bantams and some breeds of Asian Hardfeather. However, to my knowledge the Oxford type of Game is one of very few, if not the only breed, where hen-feathered cocks can occur in conjunction with normal long-feathered cocks; in some cases even from the same parents.
