You are likely aware that the International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME) is a major activity of the Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI). ICMI exists to promote international collaboration, and the sharing of ideas related to any aspect of mathematical education with a view to enhancing the learning and teaching of mathematics. ICME is an important activity serving these ends. Held once every four years, it provides an opportunity for all interested in mathematical education--teachers, mathematicians, mathematics educators and researchers--from around the world to gather to exchange ideas, and to form and develop collaborations. The conference typically attracts around 3000 delegates.
