Editorial: Special issue - Tribute to Martin Steinbach

Martin Steinhach, Marty as we all called him, was a great man of vision and a man of great vision. He was born and educated to the United States of America but spent most of his career in Canada. He was a distinguished research professor at York University and a founding member of its Centre for Vision Research, He was a Senior Scientist in the Department of Ophthalmology at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, He also had appointments at the University of Toronto and was a Senior Scientist in the Krembil Research Institute of the University Health Network.
