Brisa starts smart tire factory in central Turkey

TURKEY: Brisa Bridgestone Sa-banci Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS has started up a $300-mil-lion greenfield tire production plant in Askaray,central Turkey.The plant is”highly automated and based on Industry 4.0 and smart factory principles,”the JV between Turkish conglomerate Haci Omer Sa-banci Holding and Bridgestone said 30 Nov.Brisa's second plant in Turkey can manufacture 4.2 million units/year of passenger car and light vehicle tires under the brands Bridgestone and Lassa-its first plant in Izmit manufac-tures 11 million units/year.
