Response of Kodo Millet Varieties to Different Fertility Levels under Rainfed Conditions of Kymore Plateau

Studies conducted to assess the response of different Kodo millet varieties to different fertility levels under rainfed conditions revealed that increased yield of Kodo millet can be obtained when Kodo millet variety RK 390-25 was grown with the application of 40 kg N and 20 kg P per hectare under rainfed conditions of Rewa. Among the varieties, RK 390-25 recorded maximum grain yield (21.13 t/ha) closely followed by RBK 155 (18.53 t/ha). All the growth, yield attributing characteristics and yield (grain and straw ) enhanced markedly with increasing level of fertility up to 40 kg N/ha and 20 kg P/ha. The magnitude of the effect of highest dose of nutrients resulted in highest grain and straw yield i.e. 19.65 and 41.36 q/ha, respectively, being higherby 4.43 and 11.24 q/ha, respectively over control.
