During the pickling process, one of the goals is for the steel strip to remain immersed as long as the process requires, in order to achieve the desired results. It is crucial, then, to control the depth that the steel strip reaches in the liquors inside the tanks. Unfortunately, due to the physical structure of the pickling lines, the results of the process are only seen at the end stage, when the process has finished. One extreme situation is that the strip runs out of liquors and no pickling was done.
