Representative Betty Sutton (D-OH) recently introduced H.R. 4678, the "Foreign Manufacturers Legal Accountability Act of 2010," to enhance the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) enforcement authorities to challenge the importation of certain chemicals and pesticides into the United States. Sutton said her bill, if enacted, would address concerns that the U.S. could become a "dumping ground" for chemicals prohibited for sale in the European Union (EU), China and other countries.
