Hydro’s Alunorte ramps up after outage

Norwegian aluminium producer Norsk Hydro is ramping pro- duction back up at its Alunorte alumina refnery in Brazil after power was restored at the nearby Paragominas bauxite mine, the company said on 3 July. Alunorte has been operating at reduced capacity since three power transmission towers overturned at Hydro’s Paragominas mine in northern Brazil on 20 June, temporarily stopping production.
