Higher demand for thermal coal from cement manufacturers pushed up delivered prices to Turkey last week, reversing the prior week’s losses. Prices for NAR 6,000 kcal/kg coal delivered to Turkey on vessels of at least 50,000t rose on the week by $4/t on a cif Iskenderun basis. One cement maker was in the market for a Panamax for delivery in January, with the tender set to close at the beginning of this week, with Russian-origin coal favoured.
