Trudeau win preserves Canadian carbon price

Canada’s national price on carbon emissions appears secure, after prime minister Justin Trudeau fended of a strong chal-lenge from conservatives vowing to repeal the program. Trudeau’s Liberal Party won 157 seats in the parliamentary elections. The Liberals’ margin of victory was 13 seats shy of an outright majority, meaning Trudeau will have to fnd coali- tion partners to form a government. The opposition Conserva- tive Party took 121 seats.
