US complains to WTO over retaliatory steel tariffs

The US said it was launching disputes with the World Trade Organization (WTO) on 16 July against China, the European Union, Canada, Mexico and Turkey, challenging their retaliatory tariffs to Section 232. "The US steel and aluminium duties imposed by President Trump earlier this year are justified under international agreements the United States and its trading partners have approved," the US Trade Representative said.
