South Africa to get investment for new refinery

South Africa plans to use funding pledged by the UAE and Saudi Arabia to build a new refinery, the country’s energy minister Jef Radebe said on 7 September. The UAE and Saudi Arabia each pledged to invest $10bn in South Africa’s economy when its president, Cyril Ramaphosa, visited these countries in July. Saudi Arabia’s money is ear- marked for South Africa’s energy sector, with refinery building, petrochemicals and renewables potential investment target areas.
