Valero optimistic on refned product demand

US independent refner Valero expects strong Latin Ameri- can demand for its refned products as the region works to increase its own refning rates. Robust US demand and weather issues limited the refner’s exports in the frst quarter, executives said. But global gaso- line and especially diesel demand is strong heading into the summer. “We are confdent that demand growth in the region out- paces any kind of reasonable ramp up in refnery utilisation,” Valero vice president of supply Gary Simmons said.
