Producers in the US Gulf of Mexico have shut in 32pc of the ofshore region’s total crude output as of today as this hur- ricane season's frst major weather system strengthens. Oil volume shut in stood at 602,715 b/d, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) said today, based on a survey of 17 companies. Up to 18pc of ofshore natural gas production was of line, or 496.2mn cf/d.
