US refners must take seriously sweeping Democratic proposals to slash the use of their fuels, one of the leading trade groups said. The American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) on 18 March laid out a legislative strategy pushing a unifed fuel standard to replace federal fuel blending man-dates, support for the ratifcation of US trade agreements with Canada and Mexico and with China, and for more federal sup- port for US infrastructure, AFPM president Chet Thompson said in San Antonio, Texas, at the association’s annual meeting.
