India’s JSW aims to nearly double cement capacity

India’s JSW Cement plans to expand its capacity by 11mn t/yr to 25mn t/yr by 2023. The company, part of the steel- and power-focused JSW Group, will invest 28.75bn rupees ($400mn) as it targets be- coming one of the top fve cement manufacturers in India. JSW Cement had originally planned to expand from 14mn t/yr to 20mn t/yr by 2023. But it has since boosted its expansion plans in anticipation of increased Indian cement consumption.
