Coke growth outstrips other oil products in India

Rising demand for petroleum coke has made it the fastest- growing petroleum product consumed in India during the last decade, according to a report by a division of the Indian petroleum ministry. Coke use registered double-digit compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in the decade up to the Indian financial year end- ing on 31 March, partly as a result of its increased popularity with cement makers. The trend also fuelled demand for sea- borne coke, making India the world’s biggest coke importer.
