India’s Hindalco increases aluminium output

Indian aluminium and copper frm Hindalco produced 326,000t of aluminium in July-September, up by 2pc from 321,000t in the same quarter last year. Alumina production, including output from the Utkal refnery, decreased by 2pc to 712,000t in the third quarter, compared with 726,000t produced a year earlier. Value added production including wire rods also dropped by 2pc to 119,000t from 121,000t as a result of lower demand, the company said.
