US coke exports rise on shipments to India

The US exported 20pc more green petroleum coke in October than a year earlier, with the growth largely from India-bound shipments. Over 500,000t of green coke shipped to India during the month, according to US Census Bureau data. This is up from less than 100,000t a year earlier, when regulatory uncertainty had sharply cut demand in the country. This was also the high- est monthly total since March of this year, with buying picking up following the monsoon season and coke pricing favorably against coal.
