Hyper Growth of Cyber Attacks in Oilpatch

Today, cyber-attacks are accelerating and exponentially complex. Seconds and minutes are the new longevity of duration that an organization's entire technologies and infrastructures can and will be comprised, potentially leading to damaged or destroyed, unusable, systems and data, or shut off entire operations completely. In a world of emerging and hyper-expanding physical, financial, and virtual risks, there is a hyper-growth in the vulnerability of security and supply of energy to the world. Oilpatch leaders need to think and embrace ‘resilience,’ as a strategy, discipline, and technology for two fundamental reasons. First, it increases the probability and likelihood of avoiding a catastrophic failure, often brought on by an all-or-nothing approach. Too often due to limit foresight, the assumption is purely defensive, by preventing network access, I believe am protected. The second is by embracing resiliency as a strategy and technology ensure that thinking, planning, and behavior, will extend beyond information technology and security.
