Escalator & elevator accidents in Asia

Importance of elevator safeties awareness and accidents in Asia with particular reference to Indian subcontinent is being reviewed; India is growing into the world of elevators as a major player with lots of requirements for elevators for many different buildings. The approach to elevators is characteristic to an evolving third world country i.e. from a rather unprofessional approach to the more stringent, safe and professional approach. While there is acceptance to the necessity of the elevators, the quality and the safeties of the elevators may still pose big concern to the users and the developers; there have been a number of different types of shocking accidents witnessed in the country, clearly indicating that a lot of focus/awareness is required in that direction, both listed in our detailed article.
