A lot of waste rubber is produced worldwide. It is not possible to discharge the rubbers in the environment because they decompose very slowly and cause lots of pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to have a relevant use of these wastages. The aim ofthis paper is to study the possibility of using waste tyre rubber in concrete to replace coarse aggregate. The test programme was carried out to develop the information about the mechanical properties of rubberized concrete. The specimens were preparedwith percentage replacements of the coarse aggregate by 4,8,12 and 15% of rubber aggregate. Moreover, a control mix with no replacement of the coarse aggregate was produced to make a comparative analysis. The prepared samples consist of concrete cubes, cylinders and prisms. Material properties were studied before making concrete. Slump test was conducted on fresh concrete to study workability. The specimens were tested for compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength, modulus of elasticity and impact strength. The results revealed that although there was a reduction in strength for crumb rubber mixture, but slump values increase as the crumb rubber content increase from 0% to 15%, meaning that the rubber mixture is more workable compared to conventional concrete.
