The Nullagine project in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia has a production capacity of around 5Mtpa of 57%Fe direct shipping ore (DSO) fines product. Ore is transported to FMG's rail head at Christmas Creek for transport to PortHedland with ship loading through its Herb Elliott port.Until October 2016, the operation was managed as a joint venture between BC Iron Limited (BCI) and Fortescue MetalsGroup Limited (FMG). FMG now owns 100% of the project with BCI to receive a royalty on 75% of production.The operation was cash negative in the December Quarter of 2015. In December 2015, the JV partners announced thatDSO production would be temporarily suspended. The suspension was progressively implemented over December 2015and January 2016.
