Recycling and Reuse of Waste Concrete to Prepare the Concrete Hollow Building Bricks

摘要

The experimental investigation of the preparation process condition of concrete hollow building bricks (MU 10) using the waste concrete as recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) have been reported. The basic physical properties (apparent density, bulk density, voidage, water absorption and clay content) of treated waste concrete as RCA have been analyzed and the mix proportion for preparation of concrete building bricks using the waste concrete as RCA have been designed. The results indicate that the waste concrete as RCA can be used to prepare the concrete hollow building bricks (MU 10). These results could be beneficial for understanding the basic properties waste concrete as RCA and helpful to develop in engineering practice to produce sustainable concrete.
