Design and Construction of Electronic Ballast for 70W Metal Halide Lamp and Comparison with other Electronic Ballast Configurations

This paper discusses the design and performance of ballast used to operate a 70W metal halide lamp using power correction IC L6561. The power factor correction (PFC) stage gives medium and long term stability with regards to line perturbations and lamp aging. This paper compares these ballast configurations using L6561 with other existing L6562 and L6569 with other existing ballast configurations.
