A Database Content Management System with Integrated Tasks and Change Logs

Data contents, attribute, constrains, and even data structure should be changed to meet business needs. These changes in the life cycle of data contents should be managed to verify the soundness of the data. To support data oriented business tasks, which involves complex and frequent change of contents, a systematic management of the change is mandatory. Previous works focus on managing changes of document in the tasks, so it is hard to trace history of the change of contents to justify the correctness of the current data. This paper propose a system to manage business processes based on hierarchically linked granular tasks and keeping history of the data items according to the tasks. With this system, we could not only trace change of the data, but also confirm business tasks which affected the change. Additionally, users could estimate required time, related personnel, and restrictions for a change by searching the proposed integrated system.
