摘要

Objective: The objective of the study is to provide an overview about various current controllers used in shunt active power filter applications. A typical comparison of various current controllers for voltage source inverter (VSI) functioning as shunt active power filter (SAPF) is explored in this paper. Motivation: The desired performance of any physical system is achieved by the use of controllers. The features of various control techniques like hysteresis, pulse width modulation (PWM) control, variable parametric PWM(VPPWM) control, Fryze current control strategy are taken for comparison. Methodology: The control strategies are examined for their effectiveness in tracking the reference current command in Matlab/Simulink environment. The closeness in tracking the reference current command by the controllers are verified through simulation results. The comparison among the controllers was made based on the effectiveness in tracking the reference command, real time implementation and their complexity in control. An adjustable speed ac drive with front end diode rectifier is considered as harmonic source in this work.
