摘要

In India about 10 to 34% annual agricultural production is lost due to pests, diseases and weed. Chemical control is the popular method adopted for controlling insects, weeds and diseases. A study was carried out on development of manually operated push type sprayer for upland cultivation. The test was carried out on the manually operated push type sprayer both in laboratory and in the field. The sprayer has width of 38cm and length of 140cm. The sprayer was manually operated with forward speed 2.01km/hr. The effective field capacity of the sprayer was 0.11 ha/hr. Field efficiency was 90%, and Spray application rate was observed as 232 lit/ha. The performance of the manually operated push type sprayer was satisfactory at a pressure of 1.5 kg/cm~2 and the sprayer can be adopted for spraying row crops.
