Touch-Aid: The Impact of User Factors on Users' Intention to Adopt Location-Based Mobile Application for Emergency Services

摘要

Due to the increasing use of smart phone nowadays, the proposed Touch-Aid is a location-based mobile application that integrates emergency services finder, alert panic button and mobile tracking. Touch-Aid enable users to seek help and find assistance in the shortest time when facing emergency situations such as car breakdown, road accident or fall victim to crime. This application is useful as we tend to be panic and do not know how to respond during emergency as well as those are deaf and disabled person. The aim of this research is to determine the user factors affecting the intention to adopt Touch-Aid mobile application. Questionnaire survey had been carried out to mobile phone users and 110 sets are collected. The result shows that information quality, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have significant impact on user's intention to adopt Touch-Aid. The research findings are essential in the designing of Touch-Aid mobile application in order to provide a better user experience.
