摘要

In present work, the valence electron structures (VESs) of Al_3Ti and Al_3Sc are studied by employing the empirical electron theory of solids and molecules (EET), giving theoretical explanation on the different morphologies of Al_3Ti and Al_3Sc in aluminum alloys. It is demonstrated by experiments that Al_3Ti grows to a needle-like shape because of its anisotropy of VES, while Al_3Sc has a symmetrical morphology for its high-degree symmetry of VES. Besides, Al_3Ti gets a larger size than Al_3Sc because of their different VESs.
