Fimi Spa has signed a new contract with Alcomet AD, the largest Bulgarian manufacturer of rolled and extruded aluminium products. The order comprises a slitting and cut-tolength line to proceB aluminium strip with a width of max. 2.200 mm in a thickneB range of 0.15 to 3.0 mm. These lines will be equipped with all the advanced solutions patented by Fimi: in particular, the leveller of the-cut-tolength will be equipped with a Torque Dynamic Distribution System (TDDS). This solution is based on the use of special sliding couplings mounted on the exit of the distributor shaft and connected to the driven shafts. The result is no sliding between the work rolls and the strip surface, consequently a much longer life of the work rolls and no scratches on the strip surface. This solution is particularly suitable for delicate materials such as aluminium. The installation of these plants is scheduled for 2021 at Alcomet in Shumen, Bulgaria.
