Thermal process specialist, Alloy Heat Treatment (AHT), is set to launch a pioneering new technology provision to capitalize on opportunities emerging with advanced manufacturing, such as Industry 4.0. The Dudley firm, the UK’s first and only specialist in the heattreatment of aluminium alloys, has now developed an innovative mobile service. AHT, a member of the manufacturing alliance ‘Made in the Midlands’ is targeting the new service in support of the additive layer manufacturing market – especially in the aerospace and motor sport sectors. This market – more commonly referred to as 3D printing – has rapidly developed in recent years and is set to have a huge impact on the future of the whole manufacturing industry, AHT notes.
