Some members of European parliament are calling for the European Commission to take an aggressive approach in responding to the Trump administration's "America first" trade policy, especially if the Commerce Department makes a final determination that subjects Bombardier to antidumping and countervailing duties. Two members of parliament's International Trade Committee, David Martin and Jude Kirton-Darling, at a Nov. 9 INTA meeting said the European Commission should consider retaliatory measures against the U.S. if the EU remains in the Trump administration's crosshairs. Martin and Kirton-Darling are members of parliament's second-largest political party, the Socialists and Democrats.
