Advisory committee appoints union officials to USMCA labor-expert board

A key labor panel has appointed members to serve on an independent labor-expert panel that will monitor the implementation of Mexico's labor reforms and its compliance with commitments outlined in the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, sources tell Inside U.S. Trade. The Labor Advisory Committee for Trade Negotiations and Trade Policy, which advises the U.S. Trade Representative, has tapped members from the United Steelworkers, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA and United Autoworkers to serve on the panel.
