ADM chooses a trouble-free process for trans-free fats

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has set the date of January 1,2006,for implementing in the United States new food-labeling requiring that the trans fatty acids content is shown on the product label.In simple terms,the partial hydro-genation of fat generates trans-isomers as by-products.Trans-isomers (known as trans fatty acids) are seen as unnatural fat isomers,and some members of the medical community believe that we should consume as few as possible.
