The Rohm and Haas Company,with corporate office in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania announced on July 29 that it had been awarded a US2 million grant from the United States Department of Energy(DOE)to develop a new generation of adhesives and sealants derived from soybeans and other renewable materials.The award was made under the Biomass Research and Development Initiative,a program jointly sponsored by the DOE and the United States Department of Agriculture(USDA)
