Stable is the best word to describe the price of natural gas in the coming year and most likely for 2019. As the price of one energy generally impacts others, electric power, oil, and propane should follow suit. Early 2015 brought a decrease in the cost of natural gas and the price has, for the most part, remained between $2.50 and $3.50 per therm. Market analysts see no major change in the next 12 months. Certainty is so great that natural gas futures (locking in a price) for the coming year are in the high $2.00 and low $3.00 range. This means that buyers looking to lock in prices can do so at rates very similar to current mark price.
