摘要

The optimal steam system is vital to ammonia plant performance. Selection and performance of steam system is key to the plant efficiency improvement. There are countless ways to design and supply the necessary power requirements to drive rotating equipment and to meet the heating/ process needs of the plant. The shaft power demand of synthesis gas compressor drive is the highest in ammonia plant. In this article, we share the experience gained during the retrofitting of the four decades old dual steam turbines drive of synthesis gas compressor with single high efficiency steam turbine drive at Ammonia Plant of IFFCO-Kalol unit.
