Highlights?Flows and ponds of impact melt are observed throughout the distal ejecta blanket of Pierazzo crater.?Fractal dimensions of ejected melt flows are consistent with those expected for terrestrial lava and other near-rim lunar impact melt, and inconsistent with dry granular flows.?Two thirds of the ejected melt flows mapped around Pierazzo occur on crater facing slopes.?We suggest that topographic obstacles and crater facing slopes can obstruct the flow of ejecta once it makes ground contact, preventing mixing of the contained melt and rocky debris, and increasing the likelihood that impact melt will emerge from the ejecta deposit in the form of flows.?Ejected impact melt flows in extended ejecta blankets are most likely to be found on crater facing slopes.Abstract
