Seasonal incidence of insect pests of Cashew in Coastal Maharashtra

Cashew is well known dollar earning crop along the west coast of India, particularly in Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha and Goa states. Pest menace is one of the major yield limiting factors in cashew production. Amongst all the pest infestingcashew in Maharashtra, tea mosquito bug Helopeltis antonii, flower thrips, Thrips dorsalis are the major pest, other pest like apple and nut borer Nephopteryx sp., shoot tip caterpillar Hypatima haligramma and leaf miner Acrocereops syngramma also causeconsiderable damage to cashew crop. In order to study incidence of pest infesting cashew, an experiment was carried out at Regional Fruit Research Station, Vengurle, Dist. Sindhudurg.
